To assist anyone looking for a Gordon Setter, and to aid finding an ethical breeder we have produced the following guide. This guide is free and available for any Gordon breeders to use and share.
If you are interested in learning more about Gordon Setters or finding a puppy please speak to our puppy co-ordinator.
Gordon Setter owners and breeders are more than happy to help you to decide if a Gordon Setter is the right breed for you. As with any breed it is best to really work out whether you, your family and your lifestyle could incorporate a Gordon Setter into your life and home.
A Gordon Setter can live up to 14 years and beyond and love being part of the family, including living within the family home, they are independent but loyal and their breed was developed to cover ground in search of birds; however they can with patience, understanding and love make excellent town dogs.
There are many activities that you can get involved in with your Gordon Setter including Showing (think Crufts); Agility (jumping), Obedience (precision control), Field Trials (searching for birds) and many other dog activities.

About Our Puppy Coordinator
"I have been involved with Gordon Setters now for 40 years.
My first, a bitch, came into my home in 1980 as a companion for my Irish Setter and there started my love for the breed.
A few years later I was bitten by the “show bug” and have over the years shown several dogs gaining top awards, two of them gaining their show champion titles. I judge the breed at championship show level as well as other Gundog breeds at open shows. I am also a committee member of United Gordon Setter Re-homing & Support.
People who know me know I love to talk!! Especially about this wonderful breed. I look forward to talking to people who may be thinking of adding a Gordon to their home and hope sharing my experience and knowledge of the breed will help prospective owners decide whether a Gordon is for them."
